Tents Make Any Party A Special Occasion

When you plan an outdoor party, why take a chance on the weather? From the smallest to the largest, tents add a flair that is hard to beat. You might consider using a tent to protect the food and drink from the elements. Or why not seat your guests under a colorful canopy, decorated with flowers, streamers or balloons?

There are as many sizes and styles of tents as there are occasions to use them. Small tents can be used to shade the bartender or display the wedding cake. Round and oval tents make a perfect buffet setting. Larger fair tents can seat a company for its annual picnic or cover the entire church bazaar. Many of the mid-sized tents will add a festive air to family reunions, backyard barbecues, and birthday parties.

There are three types of tents generally used for parties and special events. To help select the right tent for your event, you need to know the differences, advantages and disadvantages, of each type. Below is a breakdown of this information. In addition, the following charts and diagrams will help you visualize just how your choice will look.

Pole Tents

Pole Tents are the least expensive types of tent. They have one or more center poles, and side poles spaced around the perimeter of the tent. Each side pole has a guy rope leading to a stake placed about 4 feet from the side of the tent. Because stakes in the ground provide the support for the tent, these canopies must be installed on ground (dirt, grass or gravel). They cannot be set-up on concrete or blacktop. All party canopies have a one piece top, which limits them to smaller sized tents.

Pole tents come in sections, which are laced together to make up the final size. The final size determines the number of center poles and side poles. The larger sizes of these tents make them the only choice when you are having a large event. They are normally used for corporate picnics, employee appreciation days, large family reunions, and in applications that require more than just a cover for eating.

Brendle Rentals carries party canopies in square, rectangular, oval and round shapes. They are relatively quick to install and suit a wide variety of situations, making them our most popular tents, for backyard and small events.

Frame Tents

Frame Tents offer the most versatility in use. A frame tent has an aluminum or steel frame, over which the tent top is secured. The tent is then picked up and placed on side poles, which support the frame. This construction eliminates all center poles, and also allows the tent to be used on hard surfaces (concrete or blacktop). These tents need to be staked only at the corners.

Tent Accessories Tents, by themselves, add excitement and flair to any event. Accessories such as sidewalls, lighting and decorations can allow you to create the added atmosphere that will make your event truly spectacular.

Sidewalls cover from the edge of the tent to the ground. They are used as a backdrop, as protection from the elements, or as a complete enclosure during cold weather.

Lighting can be achieved in many spectacular ways. We can install chandeliers with dimmer switches, for just the right atmosphere. Or consider using balloons for lighting, light bulbs inside balloons create a soft, unique lighting alternative. If bright illumination is all that is needed, flood lights can fill the bill.

Decorating a tent can range from simple crepe paper around all the poles to elaborate use of lattice screens, flowers, and statuary. Balloons are being used with flowers, or instead of flowers for unique and less expensive decorations. We have included some decorating hints on this site, but your imagination is your best guide.
